The Arundel Park Hotel

The grounds looked lovely, though I barely had time to explore them. Inside, the room was clean, roomy and nicely decorated, a pleasant surprise for a hotel rated two stars on an online travel agency. It's on a busy road near the train station, and the window looked out onto a rather unusual sight, a farm. Breakfast was decent, but I would've liked bigger portions and more choice. The staff were helpful, though the front desk could've been warmer. Still, the stay beat my expectations and I'd come back.

We were allowed to park for free both before check-in and after check-out, and breakfast in the conservatory was cosy, with good-quality food. The rooms were spotless and the service was much better than I'd expected. But please don't allow check-ins after 10 pm. Our neighbours were party idiots, with loud music and talking from midnight until 5 am. It made the visit a nightmare and can undo all the work that goes into keeping the place in good shape.

The radiators stayed on all night, which was uncomfortable on a sunny day, so check the heating when you arrive. The room itself was spacious and had everything I needed for a short stay. The location works well for Arundel while keeping you out of town.

The main road beside the guest house is very noisy, so we had to keep the windows closed. Apart from that, everything was perfect: the rooms were beautiful and clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and breakfast lovely.
