We had a comfortable room and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I did find it inconvenient that there was no rubbish bin in the room. The pub is worth a visit for its locally brewed ales, which were surprisingly smooth and not as bitter as some. The countryside setting was peaceful, with fresh air and a charming traditional interior, a nice escape from the city for a couple of days. The main drawback was the apparent staff shortage: meal waits were longer than expected, especially when it was busy. Still, it was a pleasant stay with a lovely atmosphere and excellent service.

The kids have a great play park, the food is very good, and there’s a nice choice of beers with polite service. On hot days, though, they play really loud, cheesy dance music in the garden. I don’t know why. It spoils the outdoor part a bit, but I’d still recommend the place.

The outdoor space is great, with a play area and a tent where kids can get fresh air and shelter if it drizzles. Bring a football if you have children, as there’s even a goal net. It’s dog friendly too. We all finished our starters and mains, which says something as I’m a picky eater and my son can be as well. The kids menu is better than average, and his meal was nicely made with a brioche bun and good quality burger. We had mushrooms and soup to start, both good, followed by a nice roast. Even though we were the last booking, the team kept up the energy and quality, and had clearly thought through the little details. Thanks for a great end to our stay-cation.

The location is top notch, with access to some great walks, and we’ll definitely be back. We stayed two nights, ate here a couple of times, and found it super dog friendly, maybe even more welcoming to dogs than people. The food was 10/10, with authentic Indian dishes alongside pub classics, and the homemade desserts were amazing quality. The staff went above and beyond, even while rushed off their feet, and still gave A* service.

Curry night was perfectly timed for our visit. The dishes were freshly cooked, amazing, and just what we wanted. There was a good menu for kids too, including options for those less used to spicy food. Absolutely brilliant place.
