The Dartmoor Lodge

The countryside around Dartmoor Lodge Hotel is beautiful and peaceful, and the hotel itself felt warm and relaxing. We had a lovely one-night stop in Devon, with modern, recently updated facilities and a fresh, tasty breakfast that got our day off to a good start. Luke and Katie were wonderful at reception and at breakfast, so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Dartmoor Lodge Hotel to anyone visiting the area.

All six of us, across three rooms, came away feeling we’d found a gem. The owners have done a great job with the refurbishment, from the contemporary decor to the disabled access throughout, and we’re already thinking of a family occasion that could bring us back soon. The team gave us such a warm welcome. Our room was spacious, with an enormous comfortable bed, a smart wet room, a fridge with fresh milk and a mini bar, a safe, tea and coffee, and a large internet TV. Nothing to complain about. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, and the friendly staff served it attentively. Thoroughly recommended!

After riding our motorbikes across the moor, it was lovely to warm up in a comfortable, friendly bar. We’ve been here many times over the years, but today was our best visit. The refurbished bar is bright, open and clean, and Luke, Viccy and the rest of the team welcomed us with relaxed, top notch service. We had a superb salad and a glass of white wine, both reasonably priced by today’s standards. Thanks for giving us such a welcome break.

It’s a really nice place to pause on the way south towards Plymouth, just off the M5, though it isn’t especially easy to spot. The food is excellent. It feels more suited to adults than children, which is part of its appeal, though I’m sure children are welcome. Seems like an ideal summer meeting spot for motorbikes.
