Thorne Park

We found this house after a disastrous booking somewhere else, and what a difference it made. Every room has that wow factor, and the couple were so friendly and helpful that nothing felt like too much trouble. We loved it enough to book again for May 2019, and would highly recommend it.

After a great first stay, we came back with our friends. Marlene and Dave were fantastic. We first used the B&B as a base for surfing near Bude, then returned for the large self-catering farmhouse. Its gorgeous big fireplaces and space meant all 12 of us could sleep comfortably. We had plenty to do, with a pool table, jacuzzi, lovely gardens and farmland around us, plus Cornwall’s beaches nearby. I’d happily recommend either the B&B or the self-catering farmhouse if you need somewhere around Holsworthy, on the North Devon and Cornwall borders.

We stayed here last week, right on the farm, and it was very smelly. My stepson booked it without doing his homework, and we found ourselves in the middle of nowhere. The kitchen was okay, but we had to wash everything. The rooms need updating, and we had to clean the trampoline ourselves. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I’d look at other places.

This was our second visit, and we’ll return again. The hosts are friendly and chatty, the accommodation is good for the price, and it’s a lovely setting for children. Mine even enjoyed feeding a lamb.
