Clayton Hotel Chiswick

The room itself was nice and had most things thought through, from the plug locations to the mirror heights. The toilet was unusually high, though, and the MDF seat was falling apart and should have been replaced ages ago. For an early departure at 6:30, there was nobody at reception and I couldn't find a coffee urn, unless I missed it. I asked for Earl Grey tea in the room but got fruit tea, and my Caesar salad came without the chicken I'd requested. There have been problems on past visits, but this one was still a good stay overall. It began badly: I had booked an Executive Upgrade, but none were available. I was told upgrades depend on availability, though that wasn't mentioned on the booking form. It seemed odd to book a room type that wasn't there. I had also prepaid for parking, but there were no usable spaces unless I squeezed in about 5 mm from another car. The small “i” on the form does say parking is subject to availability. I still think disabled spaces should be reservable and kept for Blue Badge holders, but Clayton disagrees. Despite the snags, we'd go back.

Jesica was especially attentive, polite, and excellent throughout our stay. We also really appreciated being upgraded from an Executive Room to a Family Room, which made things more comfortable. The room was cosy and well kept, and the hotel had a warm, family-friendly feel. We had a very pleasant stay at Clayton Hotel Chiswick.

Breakfast was the standout for us. Olha kept smiling even when it was busiest and was wonderfully attentive, making sure our requests were met with real warmth. Sagar, who I believe was in charge, also took great care of my elderly parents and made sure they were comfortable. His thoughtful service impressed me, especially when he arranged vegetarian sausages before we even had to ask. The food and service were both top-notch, and I felt very grateful for the care. We spent the weekend at Clayton Hotel Chiswick with family, and the location worked well for both Heathrow Airport and central London. The staff made us feel welcome and at ease from the moment we arrived. It was a wonderful visit, and we'll definitely return.

I've stayed here several times for work, but this visit was really disappointing. The first room was freezing, and there was no hot water coming through for washing our hands after using the toilet. We asked staff how to operate the heating. Someone came up, adjusted it, and said it might take around 40 minutes to warm up. After a long day, we went to bed early, but it stayed so cold overnight that my husband got a severe headache and wore his hat in bed to keep warm. We slept badly and got up late, then spent about half an hour arranging a move to another room, losing time we'd planned for exploring the city. When we came back that evening, we found blood stains on the quilt and the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly. I complained again and was offered a drink at the bar, which didn't really make up for the inconvenience. Eventually I received £50 off the stay and free breakfast, which wasn't great. I'm extremely disappointed and don't think I'd want to stay here again.
