The beef was incredibly tender, the roast potatoes crisp, and the Yorkshire puddings huge. We started with a cracking crayfish cocktail and finished with lovely tiramisu. Plenty of New Romney best bitter too. Just what I wanted for Sunday lunch.

The menu felt limited and a bit predictable, with mostly the usual pub and restaurant dishes. A wider choice of flavours would make this charming place much more appealing to food lovers. The setting itself is full of character. It works nicely for a romantic meal, and would suit a family get-together too, with its soft lighting and seating that lets people chat. We enjoyed the atmosphere, even if the food choices didn't quite meet our expectations.

We were visiting from the USA and stopped for lunch because my husband's family used to live nearby. Eating in such a historic place was a treat. The food was wonderful, traditional, and the service was exceptional. A great choice if you're after that Old English feel. Recommended!

The country pub has a lovely setting and a great atmosphere, with live music. My wife and I went out for dinner and ended up having one of the best meals we've ever had. We'll definitely come back.
