The manager/landlord was attentive and welcoming, checking in with us throughout our meal. There were 11 of us for a family Christmas get-together, and the food was very nice. It was a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. I brought our own Christmas crackers; it would’ve been a lovely festive touch if the pub provided them for large groups booked in over the holiday period.

I’ve lived nearby most of my life, but today was my first time in. We got a lovely window alcove on a rare child-free day, which felt really romantic, and the Saturday service was quick. The place looks stunning after the recent refurb and the staff were friendly. My one gripe is the veggie choice. There were a few options, but most seemed to be halloumi with sweet chilli sauce. Keep up the good work, and please add more variety for vegetarians!

We’ve hired the function room a number of times, most recently for my son’s first birthday. It looks lovely after the refurbishment, and the staff did everything they could for us. We chose the silver buffet, and the food was gorgeous.

We were here for one night for a wedding at a nearby golf club. The staff were friendly and showed us to our room, which was pleasantly warm. I slept well in the comfortable bed, though the room looked tired in places. There was dust on the headboard, and it needed a proper vacuum; the shower screen also let water onto the floor. For £100, I expected breakfast to be included, but the pub doesn’t serve it. I’d stay again, though at that room quality I’d expect to pay less. Thanks for a pleasant stay.
