The staff kept the rooms lovely, clean and tidy, and Uday at reception was especially welcoming and gave excellent service. I was there for a special occasion, and they immediately understood how much it meant to me. They congratulated me and gave me a free upgrade and drinks. I had a lovely stay from arrival through checkout and would definitely come back and recommend it.
The panoramic views were stunning, and the building itself is imposing and iconic. There was a lovely atmosphere in and around the hotel, and the staff were dedicated to guests’ needs. Rommel at the door was particularly great, arranging taxis and looking after guests as they arrived and left. Concierge Ilya was helpful with directions, and Jasper in the club lounge gave us great suggestions for historic places to visit. He really knows his stuff. The team there was great, and afternoon tea was a treat. It was a fantastic weekend away, with an incredible, spacious suite on the 7th floor and great views. Melissa made check-in easy and had arranged lovely birthday gifts. I loved using the club lounge both for dining and for tips. Everyone made our first stay at an Intercontinental feel special, and we’ll definitely be back.
The room service from Theo Randall restaurant is reviewed separately. 😊 The people are what make a hotel, and this one has a great team. We felt like family, and the staff read guests so well. We prefer using first names to feel at home and build a rapport, and the team gave us a bespoke experience while still handling their duties. The service in the peaceful club lounge was magnificent, with sublime food and drinks and panoramic views. Our suite was spacious and beautifully appointed. Melissa had arranged thoughtful amenities for us, and we were warmly welcomed. Concierge Victor and his colleagues, especially the gentleman with spectacles whose name I can’t remember, were a mine of information and helped with our itinerary and transport. Enamul made sure we always travelled safely to the theatre, and the door staff were warm, engaging and courteous whenever we went out. Sveva was amazing when we had breakfast in the dining room on our final morning. I also appreciated seeing the General Manager around the hotel, checking that everything was going well and guests were happy. Fiona helped prepare the invoice quickly and warmly, thank you. As an IHG diamond ambassador, this was a must-do for a special occasion. It was a top drawer stay, and I’ll definitely return and highly recommend it.
It’s a nice thing to try once, but I wouldn’t go again. The hotel and its surroundings are beautiful, and the staff were friendly, lovely and accommodating. Everything feels high end, from the grand toilets to the bar, separate lunch dining rooms and pianist playing in the background. There isn’t a strict dress code, and I saw people in tracksuit bottoms and trainers, though they prefer guests to dress appropriately. They’re not as strict as the Ritz, but it’s worth checking if you’re unsure. We had afternoon tea with elegant cakes, dainty sandwiches and a pot of tea, with champagne available for an extra charge. I didn’t really enjoy it, though, and felt out of place among all the grandeur. I’m more of a pie and chips kind of girl. For me it’s overrated, even if you’re in one of London’s wealthy areas where everything costs money. The hotel is beautiful, but at those prices it would have to be.
Taxis are easy to find just outside InterContinental London Park Lane, which adds to the convenience. The hotel is in a prime location, with easy access to major attractions and getting around the city is simple. You’ll find what you need at the hotel, with high standards for cleanliness, responsive service, and professional, cooperative staff throughout the stay. Special thanks to Bunny for the warm welcome and positive attitude. His friendly manner and professionalism made a strong first impression. I’d confidently stay here again.
