We were in town for a wedding and had a wonderful stay at the Village Hotel Ashton. The wedding was beautifully organised, with delicious, nicely presented food served efficiently even for a large group. The events team helped make the day feel relaxed and seamless. Breakfast the next morning was another highlight, with plenty of choice and good quality. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped, and the bed made for a great night’s sleep after the celebrations. Everything was spotless, and the hotel’s facilities were well maintained. The hotel itself feels modern, clean and welcoming. Check-in was smooth, and the friendly, professional staff were always happy to help. We’d gladly return for another event or a leisure visit. It’s a comfortable place to stay and a great wedding venue. Highly recommended.

This was my second visit, meeting old school friends for the night after travelling from Dartmouth Devon. Check-in was quick and easy, and the accessible rooms are spacious and airy. The bar food was pretty good, and the Sunday roast was lovely. Breakfast has a good range of choices and is good overall, though we did have undercooked sausages on the second morning. The staff are amazing, friendly and helpful, especially Amy, Joan, Declan, Carson and Katy.

The location made everything easy and convenient during our stay at the Ashton Village Hotel. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and it surpassed what we expected. A brilliant experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

I use the gym and spa regularly, and I’d say they’re among the best around Tameside and Manchester. The people working there are what make it special. A big shout out to Aisha, the blonde guy at the gym reception and the new young boy who joined recently. They’re always kind and friendly, with big smiles. It’s the people around us who make experiences into good memories. Thanks again for being so kind and efficient. 🫶🏽

We booked three nights but left after two, disappointed enough to drive the 4.5 hours home. After the first night, we were moved because we complained about the view, the broken coffee machine and the TV not working. The building was like a building site, and nobody told us before we travelled. The room we were allocated had a view worth complaining about too. Nobody had contacted us about it before our 5 hour drive to the hotel. On Christmas Day, we couldn’t get breakfast at 9.45am because we were told it finished at 9.30am. I don’t know why they couldn’t at least offer toast as a courtesy. Their explanation was that a folded sheet on the bed listed the opening times, which we hadn’t read because we didn’t have time. No one had told us breakfast ended then. They directed us to Macdonalds, which was closed. We also couldn’t get food in the hotel that day unless it had been pre-booked, and no one had mentioned that beforehand. The gym and pool, which we’d paid extra to use, closed at 12 o’clock, again with no prior notice. The TV had instructions for streaming from our phones, but it wouldn’t connect. After I complained, I was told that streaming had been turned off on all the TVs, another thing we hadn’t been told. We were left in the hotel on Christmas Day without the services we expected. There was nothing to watch and no way to stream; we both felt extremely disheartened, isolated and depressed, with no facilities to lift our mood. There were no phones in the rooms, so we had to keep going downstairs to speak to staff. The third floor lift’s down button didn’t work either, meaning we had to press up and go up before we could go down. The air conditioning also seemed faulty, switching itself off and taking a long time to load up. The room manager offered us coffees from Starbucks downstairs because the machine in our first room didn’t work. We’re grateful to her. She was the only staff member we spoke to who seemed concerned about our happiness and complaints. The hotel felt disjointed, as if run by kids. Staff need training and people with some wisdom to handle problems. I could say more, but don’t think the company will take any of this seriously. It was a waste of money.
