Room 1 had a lovely en suite bathroom with a freestanding roll top bath and a large separate shower. Both the bedroom and bathroom had huge sash windows, including one with a window seat and heavy draped curtains. The king size bed was soft and comfortable, and there were lots of hot drinks to choose from. The handmade Florentines were a treat too. Heidi cooked and served us a delicious full breakfast each morning, couldn’t have been more helpful, and gave us ideas for places to visit. The pub itself has beautiful stone walls, a tasteful interior, welcoming staff and customers, and a brilliant atmosphere. Their new garden is full of flowers in the raised beds and hanging baskets on the grey stone walls. Thanks to Wayne and his staff for making our three nights so enjoyable. I can 100% recommend a stay at the Oakhill Inn.

Jill was a whirlwind, juggling the bar, showing us to our room, taking table orders and bringing out food. Amazing! The pub is lovely and old, with loads of parking and a very warm welcome. The food arrived quickly despite how busy it was, tasted great, and breakfast was really good too. Highly recommended.

We’d phoned ahead to book a table, as advised, after Oakhill Campsite recommended the place during our few days there. Getting to the Village was a pleasant stroll across the Flowering Meadow and over the stile to the road, then right, with the pub on the left. The staff were lovely, the food excellent and the pint of real ale hit the spot. What more could you ask for?

The staff made us feel welcome, just like regulars, and we’ll definitely be back soon. We had a really enjoyable midweek evening meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The homemade cooking was spot on, so well done to the kitchen team.

A warm welcome, two fires blazing, and sofas beside one of them by the bar made for a lovely weekday lunch with friends on a miserable day. The food was good too. It’s a great mid stop for us, with Bristol or Bath at either end of the trip.
