Ocean Serviced Apartments

We spent three days at the Oceanside Apartments and would gladly return. It was quiet, the views were lovely, and getting around was easy with a bus stop nearby. Having an ASDA within walking distance was handy too. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with essentials like cups, pots and utensils. Staff were very helpful, gave us all the information we needed, and had the apartment ready for our arrival.

It was hard to find a parking space close to the apartment, and getting the door open was frustrating. The outside key box was clogged with dirt and difficult to release. The apartment itself was spacious and the kitchen was well equipped, but the furniture let it down. The couch was damaged and unclean, with a low back and low seats that made it very uncomfortable and hard to relax. It wouldn't suit someone with mobility issues. The double bed was too soft as well.

The executive suite on the 7th floor had incredible views of Edinburgh castle, Arthurs seat and the Royal Yacht Britannia. C25 was spacious, luxurious and spotless, with two bedrooms set up as double beds, each with an ensuite, one with a shower and the other with a bath and overhead shower. There was also a separate toilet and wash basin, a washing room closet and another for the boiler. The living room was large, with the kitchen at the back, dining area to the front right, and a balcony with a table and chairs. Fresh, clean linen and towels too. We heard the lift and a few creaky floorboards, but neither bothered us. The staff were friendly, professional and efficient from start to finish. Instructions by email explained everything clearly, and we never had to ask for help. We first booked six nights, then easily added another a few days before check-in. Just before arriving, we learned we'd been upgraded to the executive suite. We had cancelled our hotel booking to stay at Ocean Serviced Apartments, and that turned out to be the best decision. There's a cafe and bus stop across the road, an Asda around the corner, and the harbour is about five minutes away for a nice walk. The car park felt very secure and had plenty of spaces, including disabled ones. We'd definitely stay here again if we return to Edinburgh.

It's very quiet, with a lovely view, and the location is hard to beat. The city centre bus stop is right next door, and the garage parking is a real plus. The apartment has what you need for a comfortable stay, though cleanliness could be better. The bed linen didn't feel as fresh as I'd expected, the kitchen and floors were sticky, and there was a lingering smell of the previous renter's cooking. We only used the place to sleep, though, and the location was perfect.
