Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel

We only stayed one night at the Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel, but it was very good accommodation in the centre of a beautiful place. Our twin room had an en suite bathroom and was clean, roomy, and comfortable. The staff were polite, professional, and knew their stuff. Breakfast was tasty and good value. There was a bar, tea and coffee facilities, and comfortable seating in reception. We had a fantastic time in Edinburgh. Thank you.

The room was basic but perfectly adequate for the fair price. The common rooms felt cheerful, and the staff were very helpful. It’s tucked away from the Old Town chaos but still in a great spot, with lots of transport options and nice shops nearby.

Edinburgh Central worked really well for me as a solo traveller. I could walk to most of the main sights, and they stored my luggage before check-in. I ended up with a room to myself, which was simple but clean and spacious. The only letdown was the wee-breakfast, which I didn’t think was worth the price. I’d stay again.

They kindly kept our bags for free after checkout, which was at 10 AM, until our 6:30 PM return journey. That made the last day easy, and they gave us a very polite goodbye. The location also worked well, near Edinburgh’s main landmarks and with bus and tram stops close by. The self-catering area and kitchen were handy, and having a laundry room was a big plus for travellers. My friend and I were very happy with our twin room at Edinburgh Central Accommodation. It was clean and well maintained, and we both slept well. The heating was excellent and kept the room perfectly warm. The receptionist was extremely friendly and greeted us with a warm smile from the start. I’d found cheaper places while looking, but reviews mentioned poor heating and cleanliness, so this felt like good value for the comfort. A clean, comfortable, affordable stay in a good location. I’d recommend it and would happily return.
