Sweeney Aviemore One

The location made it easy to walk into town, with shops and restaurants close by, and check-in and check-out were straightforward. Our room had plenty of storage and space to hang wet clothes, plus everything else we needed. The waterfall shower was a nice extra. I’d stay here again.

Having a microwave, fridge and kettle in the room meant we could make simple meals and spend less during our trip. We brought our two dogs, and there was room for both their beds. We booked directly with the hotel for the lowest pet option. It’s more of an apartment-style hotel, with spacious, clean, dark and quiet rooms, but not much else in the way of facilities or a main reception.

I felt unsafe leaving early on Saturday as a solo traveller, since the front door had no self-closing mechanism and was unlocked every time I used it. I couldn’t help thinking it might have been standing open all night. I was also woken by guests arguing about noise after I’d gone to bed. You can hear people coming and going, and the upstairs floor creaked loudly under ordinary footsteps. Better soundproofing could have prevented that. I stayed in room 2 last Friday night. The room itself was really lovely, the parking was great and the location couldn’t be better.

Our room had everything we needed for a weekend in Aviemore, and was beautifully decorated and sparkling clean inside and out. The place is just minutes from the Main Street, near all the shops, restaurants and pubs. We’ll definitely book at Sweeney Aviemore again. Thanks! Xx
