Spillers Farm

Jayne and Carl were fantastic hosts, and breakfast was just as good, with farm eggs and fresh ingredients sourced locally. The farmhouse grounds are lovely, with a lake of their own. Our room was spotless and nicely decorated, the bed was very comfortable, and the en-suite decor was especially gorgeous. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Thank you.

We’ve been coming to Spillers in summer, and this year we treated ourselves to a couple of autumn days there. Jayne and Carl are always friendly and helpful, and the welcome cake, milk and bottled water in the fridge were a lovely touch. The room was fantastic, cosy and warm, and breakfast was absolutely brilliant. Can’t wait to visit again, 10 out of 10.

The breakfast was A1, and the vegetarian version was excellent. The owners were attentive, and there are plenty of places to visit nearby, though you’ll need your own transport. There’s also a lake on site if you fancy a stroll. We stayed in the large, tastefully decorated superior room facing the road. Traffic was a little irritating with the window open, but barely audible when it was shut. The bed was very comfortable, the shower cubicle was spacious, and the shower itself was faultless. They left two slices of cake each day, and there was plenty of tea and coffee, plus a small fridge with nicely chilled fresh milk. The TV was small but fine. One small suggestion: a shelf or other spot for shower gel and a face cloth would help, as having to bend down to the tray was a bit of an effort for my back. They did provide shower gel, although I prefer to use my own. All in all, well worth a visit.

Carl and Jayne, along with Ribbon the farm dog, were great hosts. There’s extra interest from the farm animals and the lake right on the property. It’s an ideal spot for coastal path walks and lots of interesting nearby visits. The accommodation was first class and comfortable, with a TV and refreshments in the room. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice and generous portions.
