A proper B&B with plenty of character, a brilliant host and an excellent breakfast. If you're hiking the Ridgeway, remember it's quite a way off the trail. I'd suggest taking a cab from Wendover instead of walking along the grass verge of the A-road.

Our twin room at Mayertorn cottage was clean and very nice, with its own bathroom and great views over the paddocks and countryside. Anthony was welcoming and helpful, and breakfast, served between 7:30 and 8:30, was very good. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend it.

Antony, the owner, is such a nice guy, and I felt really welcome. It's unlike anywhere else I've stayed. I hope to be back in Aylesbury later this year, and I'll definitely book again.
