The Old Dairy B&B

We had a really lovely stay when we came for a nearby wedding on Thursday 22nd August, with both rooms used for our family of five. Thank you for fitting us in early that day and helping us get parked. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, with a great layout. In the upstairs room for three, the bathroom was a little separate but still private. Breakfast was very good, with homemade and local food, including delicious fruit salads, jam and marmalade, plus tasty chipolatas and bacon. The price felt very reasonable for an experience much nicer than a Travelodge or Premier Inn. We’d come back if we’re in the area and would happily recommend it.

Helen, the owner, greeted us warmly and was very friendly. The place was clean and welcoming, and the room and facilities were just right, with plenty of space and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and really tasty. There’s parking outside or on the driveway, and the village shop and pub are nearby. Recommended.

Helen was a kind and understanding host, and did what she could to help. I arrived on crutches, soaking wet and muddy on a miserable evening, and we even overslept the next morning, so we weren’t exactly ideal guests. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. The Old Dairy is an old building with an interesting history, converted to a high standard into a clean, modern B+B. A great base for exploring a beautiful part of the world.

Helen made me feel at home and completely at ease. She was flexible and helpful, always available, but never intrusive. A little haven, and the perfect B&B host. Highly recommend staying here.
