The location is really central, and the nearest car park is only a short walk away. The staff were lovely and friendly. I was worried about noise after reading reviews once we'd booked, but it wasn't too bad. We stayed on a Saturday, so there was some noise, though it had gone quiet by the early hours.

I had the worst night's sleep I've ever had because of nightclub noise that went on until 3am. The reception staff were really nice and helped me change rooms for the second night. Even so, there weren't enough towels, and there was no bathroom floor mat, so the floor got flooded and very slippery. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Lots of people seemed to be living there, and a body was found on our floor the day we arrived. The police were still there, but the floor hadn't been closed off. We found out about what had happened on social media, and it was very upsetting.

We booked at the last minute, which let us extend our break in the area, and the hotel did the job for one night. It's been refurbished recently and seems to be trying to feel like a Premier Inn, but it was still noisy. You could hear doors banging and people outside shouting from bars that stay open into the early hours. The room was warm in early October, with no air conditioning or fridge. It was cramped, and there was no on-site facility apart from a vending machine. That was fine for us since we planned to go out. We were a short walk from the port, so we didn't need to move the car. By the time we'd paid around £100 for the room, £15 for checking in 45 minutes early after a six-hour drive, and £15 for parking, it made for an expensive evening. It was just a bed for the night.

The place was very basic, and both of our third-floor rooms smelled horribly musty, like old urine. There weren't enough towels or any bath mats, and the shower gel and hand wash smelled like floor cleaner. It was fairly quiet and the beds were comfortable, but the key for one room stopped working after a day. The staff were professional, though not especially friendly. There are lots of places to eat and drink nearby. I wouldn't book here again.
