For £40 a night, my single room included a lovely cooked breakfast, and it was great value. The old building is a little old fashioned in a good way, with real character. My bed was comfortable and quiet, and everything was clean and tidy. Julia, the owner, was friendly and welcoming. It's a short walk to town, the seafront, theatre and bus station. Excellent family-run B&B, and I'll book again when I return to Ayr. Keep up the good work.

At £81 a night for a room for two, including a fab breakfast, this was really good value. It's a lovely Scottish terrace guest house, though the interior's a bit dated and tired, but very clean. Our room was a little small, and the stairs to the top floor were a challenge. Would stay again.

We only stayed one night, but had a good experience. It was quiet, the welcome was friendly, and both the comfortable bed and room were clean. The shared bathroom was clean too. Breakfast had a decent range, with cooked food, cereal, or both. I'd definitely stay again.

The breakfast was okay, though there wasn't much choice, and the room where it was served was so cluttered that it wasn't pleasant to eat in. Upstairs was noisy because two of the three rooms shared a bathroom. The rooms were very dated, and the cleaning wasn't good: the carpets were unclean and the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly. We visit Ayr often, but this was the worst guest house we've stayed in there and wasn't up to the standard it should be. We couldn't wait to check out.

The place was quiet and very clean, and its location near the town centre worked well for us. We came over from the Troon ferry terminal on Saturday teatime after a couple of nights on the Isle of Arran. The proprietor met us with the key and explained breakfast times. The room was nice, though those two flights of winding stairs were difficult to manage. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to travellers who are able-bodied.
