The Orchard - Donnini Apartments

The apartment was spotless, lovely and had everything we needed. Donnini's customer service was top class, and the location made it easy to walk to the town centre, restaurants, bars and other amenities. Best of all, the beach was right on our doorstep. We had a great experience at Iona Residence - Donnini Apartments, would highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

We stayed at Wellington lodge in Ayr and found it very clean throughout. It's close to the seafront and town centre shops and restaurants, with parking across the road. Donnini's service was brilliant, with regular updates by text and email. The accommodation was fantastic, and booking direct with them was significantly cheaper than using other websites. I'd highly recommend it.

Don't book if you need accommodation you can rely on. The day before the wedding, Donnini left our bridal party in the lurch. We were a group of six staying the day before and on the wedding day. First, they tried to get us to cancel an off-site booking without offering another option. Booking.com told us that went against their policy. Donnini then waited until 5pm to cancel it themselves, leaving us unable to arrange somewhere else. Disgraceful.

Please be careful booking with Donnini. They cancelled our stay the day before arrival and offered no suitable alternative, unless we paid extra for another of their properties. They kept trying to contact us outside Booking.com, apparently so the site couldn't see they were asking for more money. It felt very scammy. At the wedding, we heard they'd pulled the same thing on other guests, who had unfortunately fallen for these questionable practices. Stay safe and watch out for this.
