We really enjoyed the afternoon tea and ate every last bite. The food was all amazing, and the service was friendly and efficient, with nothing too much trouble. We felt thoroughly Covid-19 safe: hand sanitiser stations were plentiful, our temperature was checked on arrival, staff wore masks throughout, guests wore them while moving around the building, and the tables were spaced well apart. Compliments to the head chef and kitchen team. If you're after afternoon tea, Backwell House is the place to choose for the food, service and amazing views.

Our baby came along on our honeymoon and loved wandering around the pretty, well-kept gardens. The setting is lovely and quiet, the rooms are beautiful and the views are great. Staff and management were so attentive, friendly and accommodating that I can't recommend this hotel enough. We can't wait to return, hopefully next time with a babysitter LOL. Thanks for such a lovely stay!

We had a window-side table looking out across the valley, and the rose garden is lovely right now. The afternoon tea was delicious. They remembered I'd asked for extra savouries, and the tiny Scotch eggs and tasty quiche sandwiches were great. There was still more cake than we could manage, so they packed the leftovers in a proper cake box for us to take home. Such a lovely touch. X

The vegan desserts were incredible. I'd come back just for the vegan cheesecake, the best I've ever had. Our room was outstanding, with beautiful views, and everything felt peaceful and quiet. Sam at front of house was so sweet and helpful. Thank you all!

Some parts looked a little tired, though it didn't take away from a lovely stay and may change over time. It's a lovely boutique hotel just outside Backwell, with friendly staff, very good food, well-furnished rooms and pleasant grounds. I especially liked walking around the walled garden.
