The Cliff Top Inn Hotel

We had a deluxe double with a lovely sea view. The rooms were modern, clean and had everything we needed, and breakfast was fresh and tasty since it was cooked to order. There were cereals too, and as much toast as you wanted. The seafront location was lovely for evening and morning walks along the sandy beach. We’d definitely book again if we need somewhere in the area.

The room was cosy and inviting, the staff friendly and helpful, and breakfast freshly cooked and tasty. Everything felt perfect. Highly recommended.

We arrived at 3pm, but check-in was only available after 2pm and we still had to wait 40 minutes for our room. No courtesy drinks were offered while we waited. The room was run down, with hairs on the soap dispenser, dust and cobwebs. We’d booked a family room advertised as soundproof, but it clearly wasn’t. Loud music carried on until 11pm and kept both us and our three-year-old awake. I tried speaking to the manager that evening, but they were unapproachable while drinking with a customer. They avoided us the next morning and never followed up. All round, a poor stay. I’d recommend people stay away.

The room and bathroom were very small and had a very strong septic tank smell. Opening the windows reduced it a lot after a while, but the musty smell remained. Even the corridor smelled musty. Since we were only staying one night, thankfully, we didn’t complain, though I see other customers have had this experience too. Shouldn’t they be dealing with it? A three-star hotel? I don’t think so, and we certainly won’t return.
