Nathan made our wedding reception in the bar such a good evening. He was chatty, kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. He followed the Covid rules and guidelines while still making the night as wonderful as it could be, let us choose the music, and never complained. The bar had been decorated perfectly for us, and they let us bring our own buffet. The George gave us a great experience, and Nathan did his best to meet our needs. I'd recommend the place for a quiet drink, a night out, or a function. I haven't stayed at the hotel, so I can't comment on the rooms.

The George Hotel is a beautiful old building, full of original features and artwork that add to its character. My room was lovely, comfortable, and stayed warm all night. I haven't seen all the rooms, but the prices are amazing for the standard of the one I had. The people working there were super friendly and accommodating, and the bar downstairs has a great atmosphere. It's a perfect place for a drink before a night out or to relax after a long day. I'll definitely return to Leeds and stay here again for the warm welcome and comfortable night.

Bar review only. The place has gone downhill a lot over the past few years. Beer is average for Leeds city centre prices, while spirits may be a bit too expensive. The bar staff are usually friendly, though a sudden rush of customers can overwhelm them. Booking the downstairs bar for functions used to work really well, but I'm not sure if it's still possible since the pub changed hands in recent years.

It's a couple dozen bunk beds and a unisex bathing hall on the second floor of a pub, cramped, slapdash, and eclectic. Nothing fancy, but I loved it. I felt safe and met so many different personalities, all with great stories. If you're a weary traveler looking for a drink, a hot shower, and somewhere to crash, and you'd rather have wholesome conversation than privacy, I'd recommend this hostel.

The bar staff member was polite, but the pub's beer offering was disappointing. Guinness was unavailable, the choice was poor, and there didn't seem to be any hand-pulled beer. For a place with such a traditional look, that's a shame. It used to be a good pub with proper ales and a nice atmosphere. Someone needs to get it back on track.
