Little Longstone has an excellent pub, and the next village, Great Longstone, has two more good food pubs just a short walk down the road. We tried all three during our stay, which was perfect. Anna was a wonderful host, and the room had everything we needed, including a fridge and an iron and ironing board. The bath was the longest and deepest I’ve ever had, almost big enough to swim in, and a real luxury after a day walking. We stayed for three nights in July and highly recommend both the B&B and its location.

Anna, who runs the Hollow, was lovely and gave us some great recommendations. The home-cooked breakfast made with local produce was brilliant, and the flapjacks were what I can only call weapons grade. We stayed two nights, and everything was lovely. The room had probably the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. There’s a great pub, The Packhorse, right across the way, and Bakewell is nearby. A solid five stars all round. This place wins BnB’s for us.

Anna and Ian made us feel so welcome. They had homemade cakes waiting when we arrived, and we ate them at one of the garden tables. Breakfast was delicious, with a good choice from the menu. The countryside views were lovely too. The room and en suite were very large, clean and comfortable. The bed was huge and the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. There was everything we might need, including a fridge, dressing gowns, slippers, a torch and a bottle opener. I’d thoroughly recommend this B&B and would happily stay again.

Breakfast was amazing, with homemade bread, jams and marmalade, plus a wide choice: full English, porridge, pancakes, smoked salmon, smoked haddock and eggs from their own chickens. We’ve stayed at many B&Bs over the years, and this is the best. We’ll be back with friends soon. Thanks to Anna and Ian for making it such a lovely stay. It felt more like staying at a friend’s home than being paying guests. Anna and Ian were charming, helpful hosts, and nothing was too much trouble. Our spacious room was very clean, with a comfortable super king bed, plenty of hanging space and drawers. The en suite was large, with fluffy towels, lots of hot water and a great shower. There were lots of useful things too, including a hairdryer, torch, corkscrew, iron and board, a place for walking boots and shoes, and tea and coffee facilities. The view over the garden was stunning, with flowers and wildlife. There were chairs and tables with umbrellas outside, a lovely spot to sit and take it all in.

I was stranded in bad weather and waved down the owner of this B&B to ask for directions. For my safety, he advised me not to attempt the journey back through the snow. He called his wife, and, out of the kindness of their hearts, they let me stay the night even though the B&B wasn’t open to guests then. They were so friendly and welcoming, and took wonderful care of me. The room was beautiful, the bed comfortable, and the service great. It was quiet, with a lovely view, and they did everything they could to make me feel at home. Breakfast the next morning was cooked perfectly. I can’t recommend this B&B enough and will definitely return.
