On a September break, we stopped in Bala on our way home to Talsarnau, Gwynedd. We hadn't booked, but still got a table for the Sunday Carvery. We both had roast beef, and it was fantastic. The pub and staff were friendly. If we're passing again, we'll definitely pop in for food. Sunday 14th September 2025

09.08.24-10.08.24 We’re the family who were stranded in the mountains waiting for the AA to help with our car. At around 10pm we had to book at the last minute, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They found a room for all five of us and our small dog. It was a good size, and the beds were super comfortable. The full English breakfast was included the next morning, and it was lovely and well prepared. While we waited for a replacement taxi, we could leave our luggage in reception, take the dog out, and wait in the bar for hours. All the staff were lovely, especially the man serving breakfast and working the bar. Thank you so much from the Parry family 🏴❤️

We had loads of fun at Sunday lunch for Mother's Day and will be back. The staff were so friendly, and the carvery was awesome, fresh and well cooked, all at a very reasonable price. Diolch yn fawr xx

The staff are lovely and do their very best, but I can’t recommend staying here because the bedrooms let the hotel down badly. The room was the worst I’ve stayed in for decades: all three beds had worn, damaged mattresses, the linen and pillows were tired, and there was one damaged bedside lamp for three beds. The bathroom was noisy, dirty and worn. The hotel is in a handy spot in Bala and has a good private car park. But the building is very dated and needs money spent on it.
