Tudor Oaks Lodge Stevenage North

There wasn’t anyone at reception when I arrived, and when someone finally showed up, she seemed annoyed and said her shift started at 10. With no cars in the car park, I had a bad feeling and asked to see the room before paying. I wasn’t impressed, so I asked about upgrading and was happy to pay the difference. They said I’d have to pay in full for the first room before I could reserve the upgrade, which made no sense. When I asked for my money back, they refused at first. The manager eventually returned it, then shouted insults at me and blamed me for another customer changing their mind too. Honestly, not a great experience. Wouldn’t recommend.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating, always making sure we had what we needed. Our room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a beautiful view. I had such a fantastic stay that we extended it for an extra night. I can’t say enough good things about this lodge and would highly recommend it for a comfortable, enjoyable stay.

The room was in bad condition, and the bed was really uncomfortable. The main part of the shower only gave cold water. We arrived to find nobody at reception and had to call the mobile number on the door. Someone came over but only asked for my name and didn’t check any other details. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in.

The apartments look cute from outside, and the place could be quite nice with a few improvements. Inside, the shower didn’t drain and flooded the bathroom. There were no hangers for towels or anything else, either in the bathroom or the room. We had just one towel for two people, and it was dirty. I tried calling reception a few times to ask for another, but nobody answered.
