Ballater Hostel

The rooms work well, with up to three bunk beds, each with its own bedside light and charging point. Every room has an en-suite toilet and shower. The hostel was spotless, and there’s pretty much everything you could want in the building or nearby.

Dominique and Daniel are so sweet, and it’s clear they care about both the guests and the place. They know the area really well. Everything was clean and looked after, with thoughtful extras like spare blankets, guidebooks, maps, and lists showing what’s open on which days. I absolutely loved staying here.

The beds were comfortable and the showers warm. There’s free tea, hot chocolate and instant coffee, and the staff are really nice. It doesn’t feel too touristy, just a lovely hostel where I enjoyed my stay a lot :)

Dominique is incredibly friendly and knows loads about the area. The hostel is spotlessly clean, and the kitchen and lounge have everything you need, with free tea and coffee always on hand. Rooms have up to three bunk beds, with a light and charging point at each bed, plus an en-suite toilet and shower.
