I’m in the area for work a lot, and this is one of my favourite places to stay, even though I use Premier Inn’s all the time. It’s handy for the M40 and getting around Banbury and nearby areas. The staff are excellent. Alex & Paul checked me in, and after a long workday it was nice to chat and have a laugh. They were professional but also felt natural and like they wanted to be there. The room was clean, tidy and standard for Premier Inn. I find the bathroom layout odd compared with other hotels, though that’s probably just me. In one room, the air conditioning wouldn’t go below 24 degrees. It wasn’t a big problem since the window opened, but could be rough in midsummer. I mentioned it to staff, so hopefully it gets fixed. The food is decent for the price, always served at the right temperature for what you order, and portions seem bigger than at some other Premier Inns. It’s not gourmet, but it’s good value. Emma seated me with a smile and was welcoming and professional. Georgina and Alex checked whether I needed anything else when the meal arrived and halfway through, which I don’t often get at other restaurants. Usually someone just drops the plate in front of me and disappears. I’d recommend this as the best Premier Inn near Banbury for business or leisure.

I haven’t tried the restaurant on either visit, so I can’t comment on the food. The location works perfectly for me as a halfway stop when driving between my home in Gr Manchester and my son and his family in Poole for Christmas. At 71, especially around midwinter, the long drive feels like too much in one go. I’ve booked a third floor superior room both times, and it’s worth every penny in my opinion. The rooms and bathrooms have been excellent, and as a coffee snob I really appreciate the Nespresso machine. There’s also a fridge stocked with two free bottles of water.

The staff were great, and even though we arrived a bit late, they greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was good, as we usually find at Premier Inn, especially when there’s a Thyme restaurant. The Banbury site is right off the M40, so it’s very convenient for anyone passing through. There’s a large EV charging station beside it, and an Esso about 10 seconds away by car for petrol or diesel. The room detail was a little disappointing this time, with tea stained cups and missing towels. It wasn’t awful, and it’s the first time we’ve had that issue in a long while. A reasonable stay overall.

Molly and Emma were so lovely and went out of their way for my family. They were very accommodating with my son’s gluten free needs. When we found the shower head was broken, staff moved us to another room quickly. We also had dinner downstairs, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Thank you!

We live just down the road, so this Premier Inn is really handy for me when I set off for work on Mondays and travel towards London. The rooms are a good size and kept tidy. All the staff have been really nice and helpful to my wife and me.
