Our room was spacious and the bed was large and very comfortable. The lighting in the room felt quite dim, though. The bathroom was huge, with a glass shower right in the middle. A towel rail near the shower and a shelf for shampoo, conditioner and body wash would have been useful. There was a dining table set for two in case we wanted breakfast in the room, but we didn't use it. The staff worked hard and were attentive. We had our first dinner in the hotel's restaurant, where the menu is limited, but the chef was excellent and we really enjoyed the meal. Breakfast was amazing too, especially the rich, creamy Porridge Brûlée, which felt like a million calories but was well worth it. The venue is on the edge of town, so it was convenient to walk in for dinner. A really lovely experience.

Afternoon tea with my daughter was a lovely, relaxed way to spend the afternoon. The staff were friendly and personable, and we really liked the mix of sweet and savoury food. Those sausage rolls were amazing. The portions are generous, so go hungry, we even brought some cake home.

The breakfast was phenomenal, with lots of choice and everything cooked perfectly. Our room had a lovely country house feel, and we had both a great shower and a bath. The bed was really soft and comfortable. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at Durn House. The food was excellent, and the staff took such kind, genuine care of us and our dog, George. It felt like a real treat, especially given the good value. It could easily become our regular weekend spot. Highly recommend.

Really lovely place with a great breakfast. There's talk of it being haunted, though I'm not into that. Our family room's bathroom wasn't en suite, so we had to walk down the hall, but it was private for us.
