Bryn Llys for the Zip Wire

We came in a caravan for a few days in November to visit family nearby. It’s a lovely secluded site, pet-friendly, and mostly slate, so the ground stays dry underfoot. The unisex toilet block looked new and was very clean. Carlos met us and helpfully showed us to a pitch, with plenty of choice. Bethesda village is a short walk away for takeaways, a couple of pubs and a Tesco Express, though in winter you’ll want a torch and sensible boots. TV and mobile reception were good. For a taxi, use the number the site provides rather than Uber. See you again soon, thanks so much!

We found Yr Wagon on Google Maps and booked through the website. Carlo and the team were really helpful in explaining how it worked, and seemed happy we’d booked direct. I was excited to learn it had only opened two months earlier. The place was every bit as stunning as it looked. The bed folds down above the table, and there’s a mini fridge, hobs, a small oven and the usual kitchen bits, except a freezer. There are two shower heads, a rain one and a regular one, though they may be a bit awkward if you’re tall, as I’m not sure they adjust. Blankets are in the drawers under the bed by the table, and there’s chess, checkers and playing cards, so I didn’t need the cards I brought. The grounds are lovely, and I definitely recommend walking around to the lake. The WiFi was down while we were there, but my signal was very good, so using data was fine. Carlo was friendly and helpful from arrival onwards, and the toilets and showers were probably the best I’ve ever used. The CAMC CL pitches have lovely views and are fully serviced this year. There’s also a quirky narrow-gauge railway, built with amazing attention to detail. It’s a hidden gem in the Welsh countryside, within walking distance of Zip World. We spent a delightful week here. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Carlo made everything easy from the moment we booked, welcoming us, helping with parking and explaining what we needed to know. Our pitch had water, electricity and grey water drainage right there, which felt like luxury camping. The site is stunning, with immaculate gardens, a peaceful lake and pond, mountain views, spotless toilets and showers, and an easy-to-reach chemical waste point. Walking trails start right from the site, and Zip World and the quarry are very close. Bangor is a short bus ride away, and there’s a Tesco Express within walking distance. We stayed two nights in our motorhome and honestly didn’t want to leave. We’ll definitely be back.
