Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough - Centre Square by IHG

The bed was really comfortable, and the rooms had everything we needed. The hotel was immaculately clean, the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly. By far the best Holiday Inn we’ve stayed in. We’ll definitely be back.

The room was spotless, the beds were comfy, and the walk-in shower was a good size. We had a nice view across Centre Square, and reception welcomed us warmly. Parking at Cleveland Centre car park was handy, with access to the hotel from its third floor. I was in town for Skindred at Middlesbrough Town Hall, just across the road. Breakfast had vegan sausages and baked beans available, though no mushrooms. A very good hotel, close to the centre, with decent facilities and great staff. I'd happily stay again.

The room stayed cold for a while because the heating wasn't working, so I had to use a small heater. Breakfast was standard. I wouldn't recommend the menu food, as it was poorly cooked. I'd go to one of the local places to eat instead.

The breakfast was a real disappointment. My daughter wouldn't eat because the dishes weren't clean and the eggs looked green. Getting around in my electric wheelchair was also difficult on the thick carpet in the room and hallways. I'm a wheelchair user and drive my own vehicle, but the parking and route into the hotel made no sense for me. I had to leave the car park by a downward ramp and go around the building on the street to reach the main reception entrance. This place isn't friendly for wheelchair users, and I was extremely disappointed. I'll choose future hotels much more carefully. I've had amazing stays elsewhere, and this hotel could learn from the Newcastle branch about what makes a stay truly amazing.
