Shelleven Guest House

Breakfast was great, and the rooms were quiet and comfortable. The hosts were lovely, and it was easy to walk into town or down to the marina. I’d stay here again.

Shelleven House is my favourite place to stay in Bangor NI. It’s peaceful and spotless, with comfortable beds, good coffee, a great shower, reliable wi-fi, parking and delicious food. The marina and town centre are just a short walk away, with plenty of other places to stay around there.

Paul and Sue were wonderful hosts, full of local knowledge and the sort of people you can happily share a couple of pints and travel stories with. The room was spacious, clean and cosy, with parking right outside, and breakfast was great too. I enjoyed my few days in Bangor, which is a nice town to stay in while visiting Belfast or the surrounding area.

Sue and Paul made our first visit to Bangor so easy. We arrived earlier than expected, and Sue kindly checked us in ahead of time. She was a pleasure to talk with and had useful local suggestions. Paul was just as friendly and knowledgeable about things to see in Bangor and Belfast. They clearly put a lot of care into helping guests feel comfortable, and there was plenty of travel information to make getting around straightforward. Coming and going was easy too. Our room was lovely and very clean, and I enjoyed seeing fresh flowers in the foyer whenever we came in. We chose the breakfast option and were glad we did. The food was excellent, service was quick, and the dining staff were friendly. Being able to eat there each morning saved us time. Shelleven House is comfortable, close to the seaside and only minutes from the trains. I’d happily book again and recommend it to others.
