The secure garden made it easy to relax with the dog, and Jos even had his own welcome basket and treats. We felt right at home in the Shepherds Hut at Waterloo Farm. It's compact, but perfectly equipped for a lovely few days in stunning Perthshire. There was a welcome basket for us too, with coffee and chocs. Thanks to Wendy, Des & Jennifer for being such lovely hosts. Hope to be back soon 🥰

The owners are very welcoming and meet you on arrival, and they're only a phone call away if anything comes up. We've stayed in the Shepherds Hut many times and would highly recommend it for a quiet few nights away. It's got what you need, including a small fridge freezer, microwave, two electric hobs, and a blow heater for winter. The bed's comfy, and there's a TV and DAB radio. The little summer house is a nice spot for a few glasses of wine in the evening. Outside, there's patio furniture, a charcoal BBQ from spring to autumn, and a small enclosed garden for furry friends to sniff around.

We had a great weekend in the Shepherds hut. It's a quiet spot off the road with plenty of space for my dog, and they have a farm house too. Thanks to Wendy and Des for making our holiday petfect. They're great owners. I'd advise anyone to book, and I'll be booking again.

We had a really enjoyable stay in The Shepherds Hut, and would definitely return. It's peaceful, with a lovely view, and a good base for getting to Perth and Pitlochry. The hut sits through a gate and across the courtyard behind Waterloo Farm. The farm mixes rustic and restored features, which we found quaint. It was small but very well appointed, spotlessly clean, and just right for a couple on a short escape. The queen-size-feeling bed was super comfy, and there was a kitchenette and dining space for two, plus a little shower room with WC and sink. Our dog was welcome, with room to relax in the secure private garden, which has low fencing, tables, chairs, and a BBQ. There's also a private summer house with a sofa and TV. The outdoor seating and BBQ would have been great on a dry day, but the rain kept us in. Kindling and coal were provided, so the BBQ was ready to use. The kitchen was well stocked, with a two-burner hob, microwave, kettle, plenty of cups, mugs, plates and cutlery, and even an electric cappuccino whisk. Shower gel and shampoo were in the bathroom, along with bath towels and tea towels. The welcome was a lovely touch. There were two baskets, one for us with tea, coffee, shortbread, crisps, biscuits, coffee bags and cappuccino sachets, and one for our dog with treats, waste bags and drying towels. We left a day early because the forecast promised more rain, but we look forward to coming back. There's not much to walk to nearby. The nearest village of Blackfoot has a small shop, hotel and restaurant, though not much else to see or do. Just outside Blackfoot, Taste Perthshire is an amazing place for shopping and eating, only a five minute drive away. They do sit-in and takeaway meals, and we brought supper back to the farm.

We had a great stay in the Shepard's hut. Both it and the summer house were spotless, with everything we needed and more. The hosts were excellent. Hope to return later in the year.
