The toilets were deplorable, and the Sunday dinner was awful. The tatties still had lumps in them, the stuffing was bad, and the parsnip could put windows out. The broccoli had no taste. The meal was just warm, overpriced and disgusting. Don't even go in.

If you want a quiet night's sleep, this isn't the place. On Fridays and Saturdays the music downstairs booms so much it feels like the DJ is in your room. Staff did warn me, and it does stop at 23:30, so it's not the end of the world, but it's still far from ideal. The place feels like a throwback to the 90s, with very basic rooms and a grim shared bathroom and toilet. It's probably alright if you've been out drinking and only need somewhere to rest your head. There's no breakfast, and the options are limited, though it is cheap, and there's a reason for that.

The room stayed incredibly hot even after we switched off the radiator. The window only opened a little way, which didn't help.

The dog-friendly service was excellent, with complimentary water bowls and treats for dogs, 10/10 for that. Unfortunately, our food was disappointing. We waited about 20 minutes for scampi and chips and a chicken and stuffing baguette with chips and gravy. The baguette was probably adequate for the price, but the scampi was only six pieces of 'scampi bites', not enough for a bar meal or even a child's portion. The chips were poor quality too, so based on our meal I can't recommend it. Hopefully the new owners will think about what goes on the plate, or they may not last long. We gave it a chance after seeing the Google reviews, but were told once inside that they'd 'just taken over the place' and had a limited menu. We hesitated about leaving, but decided to stay since it was dog friendly.
