We felt like we were staying with family at Number Nine B&B. The owners welcomed us warmly, looked after us throughout our trip to Northern Ireland, and helped us get around. They collected us from the station, made sure getting to our excursions was easy, and took us to some Game of Thrones sites after learning we were fans. They even dropped us at Winterfell and picked us up when our tour ended. The clean, comfortable rooms and ideal location were great too, just steps from local pubs, shops, and grocery stores. The town was friendly and beautiful. The owners made our Northern Ireland trip amazing.

The place was spotless, and the host couldn’t have done more for us. It felt like a home away from home, with a great breakfast, bottled water, tea, coffee, and cakes in the room. That’s why people stay in B&Bs in Ireland. Nothing to fault, 10/10.

That day in Downpatrick was windy and pouring rain, and after two weeks of touring Ireland and Northern Ireland mostly by camping to save money, we just couldn’t face pitching the tent. We booked Number Nine at the last minute and were so glad. It became our favourite stop, mainly because the owners were incredibly kind. They offered to drive us into town for food so we wouldn’t have to walk in the rain or pay for parking. Breakfast was included, and they looked after us while we ate and had a great chat with us. The room was lovely and had bathrobes, slippers, tea and coffee, some tasty muffins, a hairdryer, lots of closet space, and loads of shower gels and shampoos to choose from. The beds were the comfiest we found on the trip. The shared bathroom, used with one other room, was immaculate, and the shower was the best we had. It’s well placed for exploring Downpatrick, as well as going further out to Castle Ward (Winterfell!) or Castlewellan Forest Park. I can’t recommend this lovely home and its hosts enough. Perfect.

The room suited us well and breakfast was filling. We got a lovely, warm welcome when we arrived, and we’ll definitely stay again. Thank you.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay. Angela & Edmunds were warm, friendly hosts and made us feel very welcome. Their hospitality was exceptional.
