The main house sits well back from the road on the large estate, so it can be a little tricky to find. The owners were very nice, and the old estate and building exteriors are amazing. Inside, the building could use renovation, though I’m sure that would be extremely costly. Its size also makes it hard to keep warm, and it was definitely drafty. My wife has allergies, and the musty smell gave her pretty significant sinus problems.

The beach beneath the Mourne Mountains was spectacular. The walk there past the cattle and sheep was beautiful, and the very friendly poloponies made it even better. The highlight of our trip. Loved every minute.

I came back for a wonderful holiday in early July 2016, after leaving as a child in 1943. The house is still just as I remember it from all those years ago.
