Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, with dinner covering red meat, fish and vegetarian courses. We stayed one night in outside room 2, which was gorgeous. I also appreciated the Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. Had a great time.

The food is really good and fairly priced for the quality of the ingredients. We’ve had both lunch and dinner in the comfortable, quaint bar, where the roaring fire makes it so cosy. It’s the sort of place you could happily spend an afternoon over a good wine. The staff are friendly and helpful, and we’ll be back.

We’d definitely return. The room was small but comfortable and had everything we needed, though the shower pressure wasn’t great. It’s a dog friendly place, which was a shame for us because ours isn’t. The food was great quality and used local produce. There was a good choice of drinks, but no IPA on draught or in bottles. The inn is in a quintessentially English village.

After a long dog walk in the rain, we found this lovely pub and stopped for lunch. The tomato, roasted pepper, pesto and cheese soup was absolutely delicious, with croutons and sourdough. There’s a good choice of meals and very good value, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The bar is dog friendly and has several roaring fires. I’d recommend it and would come back.

A real gem. We stayed one night and had dinner and breakfast, and both the stay and the delicious food were lovely. Thanks for the adventurous breakfast too. I was told my mushroom ragu with goats cheese was to die for.
