The rooms were roomy and cosy, with big modern bathrooms, underfloor heating and huge showers. They had everything we needed, and I got the feeling anything missing would have been sorted out straight away. I’ve just come back from four nights at the Fox and Goose for work nearby. Craig and Aiden were wonderfully welcoming, and the food was mind blowing. My colleague and I tried our way through the menu over a few days, and every dish was spot on. You could visit plenty of London restaurants and not get food this good, while probably paying twice as much. Breakfast was amazing too. The full English may be one of the best I’ve had, and you certainly won’t leave hungry. I’ll definitely return. What an experience, and thanks, guys.

We hadn’t even realised the other diners were leaving at lunchtime, and nobody at the bar gave us a hint they were closing for the afternoon. We only noticed the door was shut when we drove past a few minutes later! The Fox and Goose is a real little gem. After wandering around the lovely village, that warm welcome at the pub was just what we needed, in every sense. We hope to return with more time to enjoy some of the lovely evening menu. Thank you.

They really went out of their way to fit us in, and the service was both efficient and friendly. The food was fabulous, and so was the atmosphere.

We only spent one night at the Fox and Goose, in the quiet, quaint village of Paracombe. The room was a lovely size and the bathroom was amazing. We slept comfortably with the sound of the river below. Dinner and breakfast were beautifully cooked and presented. Craig and Aiden are excellent, friendly hosts.

We enjoyed dinner so much that we’ve already booked another table for tomorrow, and expect to come back a few more times during our stay. We’re staying nearby, and our hosts recommended booking The Fox and Goose. The food, service and atmosphere were all really good. I had the Prawn Cocktail and then the steak and ale pie, both very good. My wife had the fish stew and really enjoyed it too.
