For the money, it’s an amazing hotel and I’d happily visit again. I wanted somewhere basic just outside the tourist areas, and this fit the bill. The hotel was simple but really clean, with everything we needed. The best part was the staff. The girl on reception was lovely and went through the hotel details, then spent ten minutes chatting about things to do nearby and places to visit and eat.

The staff were so lovely and helpful, and the customer service is what would bring me back. The hotel is nice enough, very basic, but the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. It got noisy at night from other guests, and the room was unbearably hot. Even with a fan it was boiling, though we went during a heatwave, so it was expected. There’s no food option, but there is a bar for drinks. We got things from the local convenience store because it was cheaper. We enjoyed our stay, but if you’ll spend a lot of time at the hotel, you might want to look elsewhere. There isn’t much to do beyond watching TV or having a drink at the bar.

I’m not someone who usually stays in hotels, but I’m sure I’ll do it a lot more now. Beth guided me through how the hotel works, step by step, with clear, friendly instructions. I’m completely half deaf, and not many people can explain things clearly to me, but Beth was there when I needed help and went the extra mile. Mount hotels, you have a diamond. She’s a credit to you. Thank you, Beth, for helping me through the process, as I’d never been to a hotel before. Five stars, 10 out of 10.

Look, I paid 35 quid for a small double. The mattress wasn’t great and the room felt a bit rickety and basic, but the bedding was clean and the staff were friendly and nice. For 35 quid, what do you expect? I’d say it was good value for money.

A strange hotel, but dirt cheap and right by Barry town centre. It wasn’t too noisy in my experience, though the bed was very firm and not very comfortable. There aren’t many parking spaces on the forecourt, but nearby street parking is free. If you need a budget stay in Barry, it’ll do fine.
