We had 12 people in our group and plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen is beautiful, and there’s a hot tub and gorgeous grounds. A perfect stay for a large group.

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday here over a great weekend. The house has plenty of space, comfortable rooms and a well-equipped kitchen. There was room for everyone around the dining table, and we appreciated the welcome pack. Outside, there’s space to sit at both the back and front of the house. The hot tub was lovely, and the outdoor bar with its log fire and amplifiers was great. Would definitely recommend.

This was a really disappointing experience. My assistant accidentally booked the wrong dates through Airbnb because of a glitch, and spotted it within 10 minutes. She contacted the host immediately to try to fix it, and also asked Airbnb for help. James offered to change the reservation, but none of the dates worked for my group, who were travelling internationally on a fixed itinerary. He wouldn’t give even a partial refund, although we never stayed at the property and my assistant acted quickly. Instead, he told her to take it up with Airbnb rather than trying to find a solution with us. The cancellation policy gave a refund cutoff but didn’t say which time zone it used. My assistant had reached out well before the deadline, but that didn’t help. I understand why policies exist, but the lack of flexibility, empathy or willingness to meet us halfway was disappointing. Double and triple check your booking here. If something goes wrong, it seems there’s no room for discussion, and unexpected changes may not be accommodated.

The cleanliness was really poor. There was dirt behind the kitchen doors, grime under the wine cooler door, and the tiled floor needed a serious scrub. The cupboards were dirty inside, with old food along both sides of the oven. The oven was also very tricky to light. The owner said he’d known about the problem for a while but hadn’t fixed it. The room windows were mouldy, and there was old food under the beds. I could go on.
