Dessert was a mini apple crumble with ice cream for me, and mango sorbet for my companion. The owners were pleasant and attentive, and the meal was tasty, nicely cooked, and generous. We started with a small bowl of delicious vegetable soup, though no roll or slice of sourdough was offered. Our main courses came on cold plates, with a huge Yorkshire pudding, a couple of slices of beef, and hot cauliflower cheese alongside roast potatoes, green beans, and carrots. I would have liked horseradish with the beef, even though I could have asked for it. We were half an hour late and had apologised, so having our Sunday roast reheated was perfectly understandable. The dining room felt chilly, and our table was too far from the fire in the inglenook. We enjoyed lunch, and I wish the owners well in these difficult times.

We'd usually come for the Thai food, which is always very good, but with visitors last Sunday we booked lunch for six. When I called, I needed to specify that we wanted the Sunday roast rather than the Thai menu and give our meat choices. That made sense, since Thai is the only option during the rest of the week. Everyone was impressed. The lunch was delicious and everything was cooked just right. We finished with apple crumble and custard, and we'll definitely be back. Thank you.

There's plenty of parking and a good garden area, and the pub is dog friendly. It has two bars, good cask beer, including Ruddles Best and Taylors Landlord, plus amazing Thai food and a big menu.

Jeremy and the team were really friendly and gave us excellent service at The White Horse today in Barton. We went for the Sunday roast, which was genuinely one of the best pub roasts I've had in a long time. Would highly recommend!

The curries were tasty, and the vegetables in them were cooked perfectly. The place was clean in typical Thai style and service was good, but the food was only ok overall. The noodle dishes didn't work so well: the prawns were mushy.
