Village Hotel Basingstoke

I’m a Londoner, and everyone made me feel at home in Basingstoke. The front desk team were lovely, as were the bar and restaurant staff, the fitness team, and everyone at Starbucks and The V Works. They’re all incredibly welcoming and wonderful. I couldn’t rate the place any higher. Thank you!

I travel around the country a lot for work, and this is one of my favourite hotels. It’s a lovely modern place, with really nice rooms. I especially liked the glass wall into the bathroom: you can let more light into the room or make the glass translucent at the touch of a button. The food was good, and the pool is a good size, with two 20m lanes for proper swimming.

We had a refreshing Friday night away from usual family life and would visit again. The huge gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room made for a good short break. Breakfast was a good usual hot and cold buffet with plenty of choice. Reception staff were super friendly, the rooms are nice and up to date, and the lively bar and restaurant have good staff and a big screen showing sports and news. Only shame was that darts cost £10 each to play!

The sports bar feel in the bar area gives the hotel a good atmosphere, and the rooms are comfortable with everything you need, including Sky Sports on the room TV. There’s a gym too, though depending on where your room is, you might get an early wake-up when it gets going. I’d stay again.
