The move to Room 303 made a huge difference. It was bright, cool, comfortable and full of character, with the air conditioning working properly. We loved it, and it’s probably one of my favourite hotel rooms. Room 308, though, was very dark and dingy, and I found it depressing. The air conditioning blew hot air from when we arrived; by the middle of the night I felt ill, dizzy and nauseous from the heat. Staff tried to sort it out, but it kept blowing hot air and the room stayed uncomfortable. We were moved to 303 because of the problem, which really saved our stay. I wouldn’t want to stay in 308 again. I’m unsure about returning: I’d consider it if I could book a room like 303, but I’d hesitate if there were a chance of getting 308. The difference between rooms seems huge, and I loved the characterful atmosphere in 303, the sort of thing you hope for in an older hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself has plenty of charm. It’s old-fashioned, with character, and once you learn the layout it’s easy enough to get around. The breakfast room looked worn and in need of an update. Breakfast was disappointing too, especially for the room price, and felt below what I’d expect for the cost. I was told the room listing on Booking.com could refer to either a Cozy Standard or a Standard room, though that distinction appears on the hotel’s own booking site and isn’t clear on Booking.com. So I’m not sure which kind Room 308 was. The stay ended up being very mixed because of that room.

The breakfast was excellent, and the Whitehouse was clean and comfortable when we stayed on May 27. I also got to meet Russell, the manager, who was friendly and helpful. Thanks for a very pleasant stay. Frances and Julian.

A good-value option in Worcester. The rooms are clean and functional, and breakfast is included. Abbie (sp?) ran the dining room efficiently and with a smile. Great choice at the right price.

We were there for two nights for my stepdaughter’s wedding. The room was lovely, the location is great, and service was generally good. Foregate Street is only about 100 yards from Worcester railway station and close to the pedestrian area in Worcester’s city centre. The hotel bar, though, felt like the dead soul of the universe, with no exaggeration, and was very expensive. They were trying to close it at 20.30 when I was there, and I don’t know if they’d reopen it later if asked. They mention car parking, but don’t make it clear enough that it costs £10 per 24 hours.

We’ve been back to the Whitehouse Hotel about half a dozen times, and the staff have once again made for a wonderful visit. Their friendly service helped make our annual club event really enjoyable. The hotel is right in the city centre, near the train station, and there’s a large off-road car park at the back if you’re driving. The car park is now run by a different company, so follow the instructions and it should be fine. Looking forward to another stay at the Whitehouse in this lovely city.
