Bath Holiday Suites

The location couldn’t be better, right in the centre, so we didn’t need a car. There’s lovely outdoors just a few minutes’ walk away, too. The apartment was spacious, clean and super comfortable, all for a very good, fair price. We’ll come back!

The apartment itself was fine and the location decent, though I’d recommend the other side of the bridge, nearer the station and centre. The shower flooded the bathroom quickly because there was no screen or curtain. The pricing was very misleading. They charged their “standard” cleaning fee at checkout, even though it wasn’t included in the booking price, and staff weren’t helpful when we asked about the surprise charge.

The location and bathroom were good, but the rest was disappointing. The entrance hall and stairs looked like they were straight out of the TV series Rising Damp, with faded decor. On our first night, cooking smells of fried onions and cabbage came up from the room below. The owners control the heating, so you have to call and ask them to turn it on. The conversion felt cheaply done, with mould and cracks visible. It wasn’t cheap, so avoid.

Our owner was very accommodating and flexible. Plane delays meant we needed to change the booking twice, and they worked with us both times. It’s within easy walking distance of downtown Bath, with good local restaurants nearby. The place was great, though a little tricky to spot because of a small sign on a side street. The map made it easy enough. Definitely our first choice next trip.
