Hiding Space - Westgate Apartments

The apartment was spacious and lovely, with two TVs, a comfortable bed, clean towels, a fantastic shower, and very good bathroom facilities. It was serviced, and there’s a room phone if you need help. Queries were answered quickly. The kitchen had everything, though we couldn’t figure out the Nespresso machine without instructions. We’ve never used one, so others might find it easy. We were on the third floor, and all those stairs were a bit much, so I’d suggest a lower floor if possible. It’s within walking distance of the station and town centre, but we weren’t keen on the area. Beggars and drunks were a nuisance, so watch your surroundings and belongings when leaving and walking around the corner to the square. Despite the noise outside, the apartment was very quiet inside.

A great flat for a short city break, with a good-sized room, a lovely bathroom, and a comfortable bed. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. There isn’t much space for clothes, so expect to live out of your suitcases. Everything in town is within walking distance, but if you’re driving you’ll need to find long-stay parking.

The shower was barely lukewarm, and when I complained, I was told it was probably because several people in the building were using it at once. I asked for a partial refund and never even got a reply. We’ve stayed in Bath many times and had much better experiences elsewhere, so I wouldn’t recommend this place. For the price, we felt badly let down; a Travelodge would probably have been better and cost less than half as much. We arrived without a key and had to track down the cleaners to get one. The apartment was okay, but not cosy, and the sofa was very uncomfortable. The cooking pans need replacing, and there’s only the bare minimum for a stay. We could also hear quite a bit of noise from other guests.

The location made it easy to reach Bath’s attractions, bars and restaurants, and we’d happily stay here again or recommend it. Our room had a good-sized kitchen with all the expected amenities, plus a pleasant seating area and a small dining spot. The bathroom was nicely finished, and the toiletries were really nice. Soundproofing was good; the only noise we noticed came from other guests in the corridors.
