The town nearby is fantastic, with lots of restaurants and bars and really friendly people. I’ve been staying here three times a week for the past couple of months and wouldn’t choose anywhere else. The rooms are always ready, clean, tidy and fresh, and the showers are brilliant. Sarah the manageress is always happy to help, nothing is too much trouble and she does it with a smile. Great location, great hotel and staff. 10/10 every time.

There are plenty of facilities on a very vibrant street nearby, the one positive for me. The hotel was hard to find, and having to buzz reception to get into the building felt strange, almost like entering a high security facility. I even asked reception, "Do you get lots of trouble here"? It was just dirty. The room had tea, coffee, a TV and a spacious layout, and the power shower was fabulous. But it was dirty, with the previous guest’s bin waste still there and some smelly food left behind. At 2am the TV switched on and scared the Sh*? out of me. I can only assume it was next door. The car park was small and nearly impossible to turn my van around in. No vending machines or anything, and £98 per night is a disgusting amount of money.

I’ve stayed several times over the last ten years, and I’m happy to book short stays at the lodge again. It’s well placed in the centre of old town Beaconsfield, and the rooms are good value for money. The receptionist on my latest visit was welcoming and very helpful. They deliver what they advertise. The entrance hall and rooms smelled clean and were clean. The beds were comfortable, the bedding crisp, and the bathroom clean too. I don’t understand the negative comments from others. There’s an excellent breakfast at Brasserie Blanc, a short walk away.

There are lots of places to eat nearby, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. My ground-floor room was a small box, noisy, and had a very odd smell, especially in the passageway. The furniture, bathroom and toilet facilities all looked dated. There was no WiFi for me, even though it said 30 minutes free, I couldn’t connect.

The staff are cheerful, polite and helpful, and the building is clean and well looked after despite showing its age. It’s ideally located within walking distance of plenty of pubs and restaurants. We’ve stayed before and will come back when we’re in the area. Parking is free once you register at reception.
