1 Countryman Inn Cottages

We’ll definitely stay again. The pub is well placed for the Yorkshire Dales, Catterick garrison, Richmond and beyond, and has that classic British country-pub feel. Everyone was welcoming, and the bar staff were great. Kate and Dan were especially lovely and made our stay fabulous. The food was superb for the price too, and I had one of the tastiest burgers I’ve ever eaten.

We spent one night here on a Saturday curry night and really enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere. The people running the place and the staff were lovely, and we couldn’t fault it. There was a great choice of ales, and we tried quite a few 😆 Our pup Charlie had a brilliant time and was worn out by the end. We appreciated the dog blanket so he could rest between all the cuddles from everyone. Thanks so much, we’ll be back!

The place was so peaceful, which was a big reason I booked, and it lived up to that. The hosts were warm and helpful, and the room was clean with a really comfortable bed. I slept bloody well. I had the steak pie on my first night, probably the best I’ve tasted, and the cooked breakfast was very good, with cereal available too. There are great beers as well, which suited me as I enjoy the odd ale 🙂 I’d happily stay again and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Everyone did a great job, especially the young man serving behind the bar. He was polite and courteous, though I’m sorry I didn’t ask his name.

If a quiet break to recharge is what you’re after, this is the place. I’ve stayed in plenty of places, and honestly, this is my number one. The rooms are cosy and have everything you need. The whole property feels very well cared for, clean, and even smells lovely as soon as you arrive. Every member of staff gave better service than I expected.
