The Embankment

I had 60 family and friends here for a christening, and was blown away by how well it went. The food was plentiful and delicious, and we were really well looked after. Our server introduced himself and was wonderful throughout the day, always responsive when we asked for things like more water. Annalisa was our contact while planning. She replied super quickly, was very helpful, and was happy to answer even the smallest questions. I couldn’t recommend them enough.

We had our meal after the civil ceremony in the private dining room and were so impressed. The staff were warm and welcoming, set up and decorated the room beautifully, and took great care of all our needs. They were just as helpful in the lead-up to the day. Thank you so much!

There were ten of us for Mother’s Day at The Embankment, and even with the place packed, everything went smoothly. The starters and mains were excellent all around. I had the shepherd’s pie, proper comfort food and packed with flavour. Service was friendly, efficient, and well organised, which is a lot to manage on one of the busiest days of the year. It was great seeing the restaurant buzzing, and catching up with Tom, who’s doing a brilliant job as General Manager. If you haven’t been, book a table. We’re clearly not the only ones who think it’s worth a visit.

We checked in late in the evening to a freezing room with no built-in heating. There was a portable electric radiator, but it kept switching on and off and didn’t help. I followed up twice and asked reception and the hotel manager for another radiator. The only thing they offered was a hot water bottle. I’ll never stay here again. I can’t understand how this happens in a place that calls itself a 4-star hotel. Stay away if you can.
