Balmoral Hotel Belfast

The Christmas dinner was honestly the tastiest meal we’ve had in years, and breakfast the next morning was better than at many hotels we’ve visited recently. Our bedroom was warm and VERY comfortable, the reception staff were pleasant, and the hotel was excellent, with plenty to offer at a good price. The staff are extremely pleasant and clearly well trained. One woman at breakfast was especially fantastic. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name, but we had a lovely chat and she was so proud of what’s happening across the hotel. We were there for the Brian Kennedy Christmas event on 15 Dec 25, a Christmas gift from our darlin daughter and son-in-law. What a perfect present, it was an awesome night and morning! The entertainment was the icing on the cake. Brian Kennedy was as awesome as ever, and the other two acts were brilliant too. 'Highway 56' were stunning, every song they sang was amazing, even the Beatles!!! Then John Garritty, simply tremendous entertainment. We’ll definitely be back to this wonderful place!

Leontia was so friendly and helpful, and gave us great menu recommendations. We came in for breakfast without knowing quite what to expect since we weren’t staying at the hotel, but the breakfasts were generous, freshly made to order, and really reasonably priced. There were good choices on the menu too. We’ll definitely call back.

I was staying at the Balmoral for an exhibition nearby, and the rooms were gorgeous and very clean. I had lunch and dinner in the restaurant downstairs. The staff were the nicest I’ve ever come across, even though I travel internationally for work quite often. One woman in particular was incredibly attentive and so motherly. You could tell they loved their jobs and chatting with new people. I can’t remember her name, but she mentioned that her son had recently got into baking and had made a mini egg cheesecake. Meeting people like her makes me feel so safe and welcome when I’m travelling alone as a woman. They’re the kind of people my own Mother hopes I’ll meet.

I came here for a business function, so I can only comment on the main foyer and the function room. I can’t remember what the room was called, but it was clean and very nicely presented. The location is a bit out of the way if you’re looking to stay in Belfast, about 4 miles from both Belfast city centre and Lisburn (6.4kms). I needed a sat nav to find it, or I’d probably still be searching.
