My parents were miserable. It was my first visit to Belfast, and I chose this hotel on Booking because it cost more than the others and I wanted them to be comfortable during a very cold week. But the air conditioning didn't work at night. At midnight we moved through 3 different rooms, and none had working air conditioning. They didn't give us heaters either, so we had to manage -5 degree weather with only two blankets. There was no compensation for any of it. An absolute disgrace.

I booked a room at short notice and was glad to find one for the night, but the stay was disappointing. The location is very central, though that also made it noisy. The reception felt like a hostel, the room was small and basic, and the AC didn't work. For somewhere described as 4* on Google, it felt more like 2*.

The staff were great, and the hotel is right in the middle of Belfast. Still, I should have researched more: this feels aimed at young people who want to party, helped by its low price and the popular pub next door. People were yelling and partying into the early hours. The bathroom also wasn't very clean.

The room was spacious and had coffee-making facilities, and the staff were very helpful when problems came up. But the temperature control panel sometimes didn't work, and the soundproofing wasn't good. It's in the city centre beside an Irish pub, so noise carried on late into the night, around midnight. If you need an early night, I'd avoid it, or ask the staff whether a room change is possible.

The location is good, but the rooms are worn and need maintenance. After midnight, strangers tried to get into our room and failed. A staff member then gave them key card access without checking ID, and they got in. I thought we were being robbed, and my partner was visibly shaken. All we were told was, “it won’t happen again”. There was no compensation for what I consider a serious act of negligence and breach of contract. I highly recommend booking elsewhere. Hopefully this review costs them more than paying out a 50% compensation for the night.
