The After Eight cheesecake was the highlight, and the main courses were nice enough, though nothing amazing. The service was pretty poor. Five of us were out for my partner’s step mum’s 51st birthday, and we got no smiles or welcome. We waited a few minutes for our table, then our host just said “follow me” without even saying hello. After drinks, the menu felt overwhelming because it crammed so many words onto one A4 page. We were told last orders were at 7.45, so we just had to choose. Our plates sat there for close to an hour while nearby tables were cleared. We had to ask a young woman walking past if dessert was still available. The Bramble cocktail didn’t resemble a bramble at all, it looked like cranberry juice shaken with lime and was really underwhelming. We got dessert menus after about five minutes, then a young man came over with the card machine and announced the total without saying hello or asking how the food was. That felt highly unprofessional for hospitality. It’s a grand establishment, but the staff need checking. 2/5, the cheesecake saved it from 1/5.

I wouldn’t recommend it. I was left standing at the door for 5-10 minutes before anyone told me to sit at a table, without saying where it was. The food was nice, so I can’t complain about that. But people at the next tables were vaping indoors, and the foul smell drifted over while we were eating. What made it worse was a staff member chatting with them as they vaped.

I stayed just one night and was happy with it. The room was clean, with tea and coffee, a TV and a hair dryer, and check-in was very fast. Decent hotel and room prices. I’d happily stay again and would recommend it to others 😉

The food is so good, and the staff are a big part of why we love this place. They’re really friendly and welcoming. We liked it enough to book our wedding here, and after seeing the rooms and having a look around the beautiful place, we couldn’t recommend it more. We even stayed for lunch after booking, we just couldn’t help ourselves. Don’t walk, RUN!

I had a lovely stay while attending a wedding here. Lisa gave me a warm welcome as soon as I arrived, and the hotel was incredibly clean. I even saw the spindles on the stair banisters being cleaned. The staff couldn’t do enough for you. My recently refurbished room was cosy, clean, very quiet and warm, with a lovely comfy bed. There’s a pub and restaurant in the hotel, both with a lovely atmosphere, and the included breakfast was fantastic. The wedding and its food were lovely too. You can get to Belfast or the airport in 15 minutes. The area is clean and safe, with a Tesco a stone’s throw away, and a lovely hairdresser nearby who gave me a great wash and blow dry at short notice. I enjoyed a daily run and loved the whole stay and area. Thanks to everyone!
